Eric’s guide to Christmas babywear

Posted by

Since I had Squidge I’ve developed a new found love for cute baby clothes. I’m not sure what’s happened really – it started with an adorable sleepsuit and escalated from there!

Anyway, Christmas is a perfect opportunity to buy cute baby stuff, and Squidge has a lovely little collection already. Here’s all the Christmas babywear he’ll be rocking over this festive season…

Christmas Pyjamas

In our house, it isn’t Christmas Eve unless you have new jamas! Squidge’s, in the photo above, are from Tesco and are last year’s as they were passed to him by my nephew who didn’t get a chance to wear them.

This year’s Christmas pyjamas from Tesco are just as cute though. I wish I could justify buying more, but there is only one Christmas Eve and I can’t really argue that he will get a lot of wear out of them.tesco-pjs

Another set of pyjamas I just had to buy were this year’s #getyourstripes from Matalan. All profits from sales of the #getyourstripes lines go to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. I’m always happy to do a good deed, and I never need much of an excuse to buy stuff, so I bought stripes for my two babies…

Christmas day outfit

For Christmas Day I couldn’t decide whether to put Squidge in a sleepsuit (he wears them most of the time) or an outfit. In the end I decided that sleepsuits are more comfortable for babies and a busy day means he might be prone to being unsettled, so clothes that aren’t comfortable wouldn’t help.

I bought this one from Boots after lots of internet browsing – for £4 when you buy 2 or 3 they are an excellent price. Red and covered in mini-santa, it’s perfect for December 25th! (Free click and collect too with Boots!).

I know the presents are supposed to go in the sack, but how lovely does Squidge look? This beautiful hessian sack is from IWM North for £6.00.

Christmas Jumpers

The other Christmas must-have is a Christmas jumper, right? Well Squidge has a choice of two – again courtesy of cousin Teddy – but unfortunately he was fed up with me keep changing him by the time we got to jumpers, so here’s a flatlay for you!

One of these is from Tesco and the other from Peacocks – both have a great range for this year, too.

So, once he has Christmas Eve pyjamas, a couple of jumpers and something comfortable to wear on the big day… what else does a baby need?

A fleecy penguin onesie, of course.

Another Matalan purchase, and at only £9 also a bit of a bargain. The other fleecy animal onesie I have my eye on is this reindeer one from JoJo Maman Bebe, but I have to consider whether Squidge will wear two for long enough to justify buying another.

And finally…

The last item on Squidge’s Christmas wardrobe is something you can’t buy. Something handmade with love. Something else that Teddy passed on to Squidge. How freaking cute is this?
