I don’t often buy clothes for myself, so when I do they have to be versatile. When Simply Be asked me if I’d like to take a look at some of their clothes I decided to be quite brave and choose a couple of things that were slightly out of my comfort zone. Of course, I couldn’t be totally daring and I also chose some things that are totally ‘me’ as well!
My friend has a pair of trousers similar to these and though they suit her wonderfully, I thought that actually, I was probably a bit too big to wear them and feel comfortable. Given that I’d decided to push myself a little with these choices though, I figured there was no harm in trying a pair out.
I was so surprised when I put these on. They feel lovely, and are quite generous in size too. They’re black, so will go with pretty much anything and that always ticks a box for me! They really made me feel as though I’d ‘made an effort’ getting ready and they were so comfortable too. The material is stretchy but not at all see through, as I’ve read in reviews of other trousers like these.
My only regret from that night is that I wish I’d taken flats out with me!
Shape & Sculpt Denim Pencil Skirt
This was something I really wasn’t sure about choosing at all! I don’t wear skirts, as a rule. Well, not ever, really. I only own one other skirt and I can’t remember the last time I wore it. Keeping in mind my vow to try something new though, I ordered it anyway!
I haven’t worn the skirt out of the house yet. I think I need some new boots to go with it, and maybe for the weather to pick up a bit! The skirt is really comfortable though! Stretchy, not restrictive, soft to the touch, and a really lovely shade of denim too. It’s well made and you can feel that it’s good quality.
I chose it in blue but there is also a black option. The best thing is that it smooths out those bumps of mine a little too, so it’s a confidence booster for me in that way.
Lastly I chose a pack of two pyjamas. I love pyjama days and since I don’t get the opportunity very often, I relish the chance I do get! These are really comfortable and a pack of two makes for better value, too.
The only drawback was that the seam in one of the pyjama bottoms came unstitched the first time I wore them. The other pair have been fine though so I’m sure it was a one off.
I’m really pleased with everything from my Simply Be order, and would order again without hesitation. Thanks to Simply Be for sending these items in return for an honest review.
