The latest Nerf product we’ve received to try out is the Nerf N-Strike Modulus Regulator. This one is designed for older children with an age guide of 8+ so it’s Badger who will be trying it out. We recently reviewed the Nerf Nitro Motofury Rapid Rally which went down a storm with both Robot and the friends he had round.
The boys already have the Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster after receiving them for their birthdays last year. This means they are somewhat familiar with the Modulus range.
There are some considerable differences with the Regulator though. The main improvement is the ability to adjust the frequency of shots with Nerf’s new SwitchFire technology. Badger talks about this in the following video and gives a demonstration.
What’s in the box?
There are lots of different add-ons to the regulator and the gun will work with any, all, or none of them attached as long as you have bullets locked in.
Included in this pack:
- Short barrel-scope
- Long barrel-scope
- Storage stock, handle
- Two 12-dart clips
- 24 darts
There are also add ons available to buy separately but I don’t think you need them to enjoy this blaster at all. Nerf say there are 1000 different combinations to be made with the full system – that’s enough to keep even the biggest kid happy! The indicator light blinks to let battlers know the clip is empty, and a quick cartridge change means they can be blasting again in seconds.
There’s an excellent little safety catch on this blaster which is very handy if you happen to have an overly inquisitive small person in the house. As it happens, the safety catch almost outfoxed me to begin with so it definitely works!
The Nerf N-Strike Modulus Regulator is the best Nerf blaster the boys have had to date. It’s unique selling point is definitely the adjustable firing. The kids have shown everyone they’ve seen this week and everyone’s been impressed, even the adults.
The Nerf Modulus Regulator is available to buy now on the high street and online.
