Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy From the Heart

1. My boy is better. Medium boy developed a rather worrying rash over the weekend and we had to take him to the emergency doctor. The problem was diagnosed as a streptococcal virus (which didn’t tell us much) and we were given an 11 day course of antibiotics and calpol. He looked like he’d been spray-painted red and had a temperature but wasn’t behaving like a poorly person so that was some relief at least. He went back to nursery this morning and my worry-o-meter came right down.

2. I am an official domestic goddess. Okay, not really but I am getting on top of things at home and it’s making me happy to be there. There is still lots to do in the kitchen (decorating, tiling etc.) but I can see progress and it soothes me!

3. I’ve decided to take the plunge and apply for a degree course. It will mean leaving my job and turning our lives upside down but I’m going to do it anyway. I’m trying not to get too excited about it though because I don’t have the right qualifications and have to present a portfolio of work to the university before they will consider me for interview. For now though I’m optimistic!

  1. Well done on all 3 fronts
For nursing a poorly boy and doubtless giving reassurance when you were so stressed with it all.
For getting on top of never-ending house jobs. Always makes me feel better too.
What degree are you doing? I toy with the idea of studying but funding it always puts me off
